School & Drugs

Lol those things go together right? Here, kind of.

I’m really into the whole culture of tolerance in that you can openly carry marijuana and wine bottles on the way to the bar. It feels really mischievous and kind of badass, but its actually super legal, which seems like the best of both worlds to me.

I had my first experience with "The Netherland's Best Fries" stand, which I'll go ahead and deem best fries ever. Flavors on the table were Pineapple-Curry Sauce, Frietsaus and Groene Pepersaus. This is a must-do for late night cuisine.

Today, I had two more classes, both of which are for my major and I think I'm really going to like. One is taught by a guy who used to teach at Annenberg (Yay, I love my school!), and he's literally SO COOL. Super progressive about the ubiquity of media in society and how we use it, and I'm nerding out on him hardcore.

The only downfall to this class is that it's a serious 25-minute bike ride from the city center, where I live and study and do everything else that isn't going to this class. Not only was this my maiden voyage to the southeastern part of the city, it was also my christening; it poured rain our entire way home. The whole ride, I was berating myself for not breaking out my poncho, which I keep always at the ready in my backpack. But no! I couldn't be bothered, and thus came home resembling something out of one of the local canals.

Not to mention a poor semester. I am currently using the same jar as pictured above to eat cereal, because my one (yes, singular) bowl is currently housing some frozen, sliced bananas (because you know I'm still making smoothies in the Netherlands!).
